How can you present PM concepts to stakeholders remotely?
All communication starts with the audience. What do they want, what are you trying to say, and why does it matter to them? I rarely use 'PM language' with non-PM folks, but seek to use regular business language and simple diagrams. For instance, progress charts in Excel can be very readable, whereas MS Project charts tend to turn off many non-PM readers.

What are some active listening techniques to manage project users?
For me a key further step is to think about what is _not_ being said, and who is not talking. People are often less-comfortable talking about issues or areas where blame might accrue, despite our attempts to create a positive open environment. Watching the body-language of a person who's unexpectedly not participating in a group conversation may suggest a potential issue that's not yet come to light.
